OLD GLORY

I was started from thirteen colonies
the stripes are from wounds I have bore
As I cross from continent to continent
I have been through many a war

Each star has it's own special meaning
as through statehood to statehood I fought
the white represents my pureness
the red for the blood that's been dropped

Many have tried enslave me
My edges may get ragged and torn
But, I still stand for honesty and bravery
as it was the day I was born

Some would their feet trample on me
I cry with each step that they take
Others will scorn and inflame me
If only they could see their mistake

For I stand for truth and freedom
the home of the brave and free
May it always ring from The Bell of Freedom
Beside the Statue of Liberty

I bent during the Civil War Battle
When Along to the Alamo-
When World War I came along
Again I was asked to go

I volunteered during the days of Pearl Harbor
at Korea and Nam I did stand
When we were at war in the Gulf
I planted my feet in the sand

Now we've been attacked on our Homeland
though the Smoke I could hardly see
but I will stand true for America
as long as She stands for me

Many a men gave their life for me
and they'll still do the same today
and true Americans still salute me
I am proud to represent the USA!
