VOLLEYBALL IS A BLAST IN 2010 MEMBERS $2.00, NON-MEMBERS $4.00 March 28th - Quaker Steak & Lube –
Corridor G NOTE: Some members join us for dinner at the restaurant and you are more than welcome just to show up at the restaurants listed in the email. They are usually not that crowded on Sunday nights. Sheila and I would like to thank everyone that has supported Volleyball over the past few months. We have fallen down, rolled volleyballs off people's heads and bodies, laughed a lot at ourselves and each other, argued about whether it was in or out - we finally bought masking tape and marked lines on the court (Pat's suggestion-Thanks Pat), exercised our bodies and our minds, danced to Vicky's IPOD Tunes when we should have been playing, challenged each other scores, hit the ball into the beams, forgot who served to get the point, showed up on the wrong Sundays, and questioned-the rules-can you really hit the ball over the net legally with body part other than your hands? We do not claim to be the greatest volleyball players-we are learning-but what we do best is build great friendships. Volleyball gives us a chance to be competitive in a friendly way. It works as a tool to get the non-dancers involved in the club that otherwise may not get a chance to see what SpeakEasy is really about. Volleyball allows people to meet some of the club members on a smaller scale, so they are not so intimidated when they walk into the dances. That first step is the hardest and this type of activity offers a comfortable environment for those who want to get back out into the single world again. Special thanks for those that have met us for dinner and volunteered to go early to get our tables. We have thoroughly enjoyed your company, the dinners and the great conversations. 54 different people have showed up in the past few months (a few have came to cheer us on). We don't want it to be about volleyball and competition, but a way to get to know each other, have fun, laugh, and relax. We would like for you to come one Sunday and give us a try. You may be pleasantly surprised at how much fun we do have. Even if you are not athletic or if you don't know how to play, we can teach you. The cost is $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members. There is no where else can you have that much fun for just $2.00! REMEMBER: “Set it UP! Spike it DOWN!, See you in court!, You just got SERVED!, Hit 'em where they're not!, and it’s our DUTY to kick your BOOTY!”?" If you have questions, please
