NOTE: Some members join us for dinner at the restaurant and you are more than welcome just to show up at the restaurants listed in the email. They are usually not that crowded on Sunday nights. Summer Sand Volleyball - Coonskin Park offers two sand volleyball courts - If anyone is interested in playing Summer Volleyball on Sundays from 4:00pm-6:00pm, please contact Vicky @ 304-205-4329 or 304-389-4082 or email speakeasysingles@suddenlink.net , so we can see if we have enough interest to get it on the Calendar as a summer activity. We will be playing at Coonskin Park (Directions: Exit 99 off I-64, Route 114 North (Greenbrier Street) 2.5 miles, turn left on Coonskin Drive, Park entrance 1 mile - Located 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, WV). We will be charging $2 per person. If you have questions, please contact Vicky !! All we have to do is show up with a volleyball there...we will have the outdoor volleyball net with us - there is a grassy area we can use next to the Volley Court if the are in use. You might want to bring some clothes to change it...It's a sandy court. Attached are pictures of the volleyball sand courts set up at Coonskin - beside THE tennis courts..open to the public where we will be playing this summer..Plenty of parking across the street and beside the tennis court building. The Park was created over 50 years ago by a dedicated group of Kanawha County residents. It has grown into one of the most beautiful parks in the region. Located 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, WV, the park includes over a thousand acres of woodland, hiking and biking trails, a handicapped accessible 18 hole par three golf course, an Olympic size pool, picnic shelters of all sizes, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, bike rentals, pedal boat rentals and a modern playground area. We do not claim to be the greatest volleyball players-we are learning-but what we do best is build great friendships. Volleyball gives us a chance to be competitive in a friendly way. It works as a tool to get the non-dancers involved in the club that otherwise may not get a chance to see what SpeakEasy is really about. Volleyball allows people to meet some of the club members on a smaller scale, so they are not so intimidated when they walk into the dances. That first step is the hardest and this type of activity offers a comfortable environment for those who want to get back out into the single world again. Tentative days in May are May 6th (due to the camping trip - only one play date for May). If you have questions, please contact Vicky !! All we have to do is show up with a volleyball there..You might want to bring some clothes to change it...It's a sandy court. Volleyball is cancelled if raining or inclement weather!! If you have questions, please
