Herman P. Fletcher, 68, of Charleston, formerly of Grundy, Va. died April 28, 2009, of injuries received in an accident.
He was a local businessman and land developer and a former mine operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey W. and Beulah Cook Fletcher.

Surviving are a son, Preston Fletcher and wife, Marinna, of South Charleston; his mother, Peggy B. Fletcher of Grundy, Va.; brother, Russell Fletcher and wife, Ann, of Winifrede; sister, Phyllis Jean Boyd of Marmet; two special grandsons, Dewey Preston Fletcher and Mason Russell Fletcher; special friends, Dr. Timothy Spears, Boyce Griffith, and Fay Raye and Larry Haley; and many nieces, nephews and other friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Marmet Christian Church where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Rick Ranson officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery, Claypool Hills, Va., with Preacher Jim Hill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marmet Christian Church.
