DANNY P. WOOFTER, AUCTIONEER

Danny P.
Woofter, 54, of South Charleston died May 28, 2003, after a
short illness. He was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Weston.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of South Charleston, VFW
Post No. 8129, Charleston, American Legion Post No. 4, Weston,
South Charleston Lion's Club (Melvin Jones Fellow), United
States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association, National
Auctioneers Association, and Charleston Moose Lodge No.
1444.
He was a past member of the Jaycees, a past state commander of
the West Virginia Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former South
Charleston councilman. He was also a lifetime member of the
Mental Health Association, the National Rifle Association, and
the Moose fraternity.
He served
his country in Vietnam and continued veteran advocacy by
supporting and recruiting for the VFW. He owned his own
auctioneer, realtor and promotional products business, DANSCO.
He also served the community through donating his time at
charity auctions for the Mental Health Association, March of
Dimes, various schools and several project graduations.
His loving
wife, Dorothy L. Woofter preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Danni Glo Woofter; and
stepdaughter, Michelle Whipple; his parents, Clayton and
Glo Woofter; and brother, Richard G. Woofter and his wife,
Janice and daughters, Joy and Jana.
In lieu of
flowers, the family requests donations to the Danni Glo Woofter
Scholarship Fund at BB&T.
Friends may
call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 at Snodgrass
Funeral Home, South Charleston.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Snodgrass Funeral
Home, South Charleston with the Rev. Charles F. Hamby II
officiating. Military graveside service and burial will be at 2
p.m. Saturday in the Weston Masonic Cemetery, Weston.
Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston is in charge of
arrangements.
